ROCKE hosted two special topics sessions for the 2015 Colorado Kodaly Institute at Colorado State University. Jenny Authier, president, and Mallory Harrison, secretary, presented "Rhythmic Practice Activities and Assessments." Participants left with a plethora of activities and manipulatives for dictation, performance, improvisation, and reading and writing games. On July 17, ROCKE hosted Kari Michaels in her three-hour session titled "Students with Special Needs in the Kodaly Classroom." As a certified Kodaly educator and special education teacher, Kari shared special education practices and procedures, as well as techniques to highlight musical knowledge and learning for students with various needs.
ROCKE was also able to provide two scholarships for CKI students. Congratulations to Cory Bissell and Jennifer Kessler, 2015 scholarship winners!
