Using Orff media of speaking, singing, moving, playing and creating, we’ll explore songs and materials with a Farm / Barnyard theme – animals and crops. This workshop will incorporate folk songs, children’s literature and singing games. Materials will be appropriate for primary grades K-2.

About Karen:
Karen Petty has been an Orff Schulwerk educator for almost 40 years (still going). She currently teaches General Music Kindergarten – 5th grade plus Chorus and Recorder Consort at Gold Rush Elementary School in Parker, Colorado. In addition, she teaches Basic Pedagogy, Movement and Recorder to adults in various summer Orff Teacher Training courses. She has served as AOSA’s Recording Secretary, Region Representative and on AOSA’s Educator Advocacy and 50th Anniversary subcommittees. Karen is past president of both the Rocky Mountain Orff chapter and the New York City Orff Chapter.
