Jenna received her Bachelors of Music Education from North Dakota State University. During college, she worked as a camp counselor and director at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park throughout the summers. After graduating, she moved to Colorado full time and got a job teaching music at Niwot Elementary. While working there, she earned her Masters of Music Education with a Kodaly emphasis from Colorado State University. After attending several ROCKE workshops, she wanted to get more involved, so she has served as treasurer and member at large. Three years ago, Jenna got her dream job at Estes Park Elementary: teaching music to children in the mountains! She is now in her 11th year of teaching. She directs the Mountain Echoes, an after school choir for students in grades 3-5. She also enjoys playing clarinet in the Estes Park Village Band, singing in the Allenspark Community Church Choir, teaching piano lessons, and taking Spanish classes after school. Jackie recently earned her Bachelors in Music and her Masters in Music Education at Colorado State University. She also recently earned her certificate in teaching Eurhythmics and her certification in teaching the Kodaly Method. She is currently the full-time music teacher at Fairview Elementary in Westminster teaching K-5 general music. In addition to general music, she holds several performances a year and teaches orchestra. In her free time she loves making collages and doing origami while watching movies, and is now excited to serve on the ROCKE Board.
Jenny Authier is in her tenth year of teaching music at Strasburg Elementary. She conducts a 4-5 choir, the Strasburg Singers who have put the productions Annie Jr., Honk Jr., and Cinderella. She obtained her Bachelors of Music Therapy from Utah State University and her Masters in music and Kodály certificate from Colorado State University. Jenny has served on the ROCKE board as secretary and has presented at CMEA. She is active in her community, and was a founder of the Strasburg Arts Council and an interfaith Christmas choir. Jenny plays the piano, viola, and guitar and has served as the organist in her church. She is the busy mother of 3 kids. She loves the Beatles and loves cooking. Contact her at email@example.com
Laura Davis graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Music Education and earned her Master's Degree with an emphasis in the Kodaly method. She is the full-time music teacher at Rice Elementary in Poudre School District. This is Laura's seventh year of teaching. In addition to grade-level performances, Laura directs the Rice Elementary Choir in the Fall and a 5th grade musical in the Spring. She is a regular attendee of ROCKE workshops and enjoys continuing her education. When Laura is not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her husband Ian, being with friends, slacklining, running, contra dancing, swing dancing, seeing family, travelling, and reading historical fiction.
Joseph Howell DeWinkle is thrilled to be serving on the ROCKE board! Joe teaches 1st-5th grade music at Fairmount Elementary in Golden, in Jeffco Public Schools. In addition to classroom teaching, he conducts the school’s 4th-5th grade choir, the Fairmount Choirbirds, and produces performances for each grade level. He performs throughout the Denver region as an accompanist and church musician, and is a proud member of the Denver Pro Chorale. He studied at Anderson University in Anderson, Ind, where he served as the Vice President and then President of its collegiate chapter of NAfME. He completed his M.M. in Music Education with Kodály Specialization at Colorado State University in 2017. Outside of school, he enjoys hiking, camping, outdoor adventures, travelling, exploring the mountains, and spending time with friends and family.
Mallory Harrison, Member-at-Large
After teaching general music, choir, and musical theater for 11 years at McGraw IB World School (Fort Collins), Mallory will now teach choir, drama, and music theater at Boltz Middle School (Fort Collins) . Mallory received her B.M. and M.M. from CSU, and completed her Kodály levels there in 2008. Mallory's choir, the McGlee Club, performed at CMEA in 2013. Mallory is a typical musician who is not into traditional competitive sports, but enjoys kickboxing, running, water and snow skiing, hiking, indoor rock climbing, scuba diving, tennis and Wii frisbee. She likes to read and is a Broadway musical junkie, loves "The Big Bang Theory," and wants to learn more about tap dancing.
